Nevada: Stabbing at Reno High School

Just two weeks into the school year students at Reno High School were forced to remain in their classrooms following a stabbing that involved two male students.

“Then when I heard it was a knife and then a code yellow,” said a school senior. “I was like ‘whoa this is crazy!'”

The school doesn’t have a reputation for being a dangerous school, but when a fight broke out this afternoon the atmosphere quickly changed.

“One juvenile was stabbed with what appears to be a knife at this time, multiple times,” Mieras said.

Then the suspect allegedly stabbed and injured himself. Students that spoke with reporters said school officials acted quickly.

When asked if they were shocked that this happened at Reno High School, the student said: “Fights don’t usually happen at this school, and for a fight to happen that is that crazy in the second week of school, I think its bad.”

The incident marked the fifth lockdown in the first two weeks of the year for the Washoe County School District.
