TX. 3 Teachers and deputy hurt breaking up school fight

Three teachers and a sheriff’s deputy were treated for minor injuries suffered in breaking up a student brawl at a Houston-area high school.

The fight broke out Thursday after lunch as students switched classes at Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, about 20 miles southeast of Houston.

Clear Creek school district spokeswoman Janice Scott says one student began fighting with another after accusing him of taking his cellphone. Several students gathered around, with six joining in the fray.

No arrests were made, but a Galveston County sheriff’s spokesman says assault and disorderly conduct charges are being considered for two students. Scott says disciplinary action was being considered for several students, and the district plans enhanced security measures for the school for the four remaining days of the school year.
