TN. School bus fight caught on camera

A fight on a Shelby County Schools bus has parents concerned about why the fight was allowed to continue. It happened Monday on a bus driving students home from Cordova High School.

Two girls were injured and now, two parents are fighting mad.

Video posted to Instagram shows the fight happen between two sisters and twin brothers.

“He hit her, guess he grabbed her hair. I jumped in to help my sister, because I didn’t want her to fight a boy by herself,” said Jayla Holloway.

Jayla has a black eye from the fight. Her sister, Jerica, has a dislocated shoulder.

“Bus driver never stopped the bus. All you hear her saying is ‘Y’all stop, y’all stop,’ and she finished her route,” Jayla said.

Jayla Holloway says the fight started because the twin boys had been bullying her and her sister since October.

“For the bus driver to just let them go on … she saw it was boys hitting girls. She did not stop the bus,” said the girls’ mother, Myca Holloway.

Myca and her husband, Steve, want to know why the bus driver did not stop the bus when the fight started. They say after the fight, the driver dropped the two girls off at their bus stop and continued along her route.

The Holloways say the boys who started the fight were dropped off at an earlier stop.

“She should have broken it up immediately, called 911, called and got the police involved,” Myca said.
