West Des Moines school officials say comments posted on Twitter and Facebook are behind assaults made by two students.
Officials say the problem started when comments were posted online about a car accident that happened in Des Moines. Two 17-year-old students at Valley High School say they felt bullied by each other and on Thursday one of the teens attacked the other in the school’s cafeteria. Later at the school office, a friend of one of the students got involved in the fight.
One of the original teens and the friend involved in the dispute have been suspended and charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct.
