CT. 10 year old taken to hospital after teacher puts student in choke hold

The mother of a fifth-grader at Washington Elementary School is considering suing the school system after her son was sent to the hospital after being restrained by his gym teacher.

“My son was attacked. This wasn’t just simple physical restraint,” the mother, Megan Milner, said. “I just wonder how many other kids this is happening to.”

Milner, mother of Marquise Tucker, a fifth-grader at Washington Elementary School, said that on Sept. 19 her 10-year-old son, who has behavioral issues and a special education plan, was put in a choke hold by his gym teacher.

He was taken by ambulance to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

On Sept. 22, he visited his pediatrician, complaining of neck pain, nausea, and headache, according to a document from the doctor. He had several bruises, including an elongated bruise on his right cheek, two bruises on his left shoulder, a small bruise on his left forearm, and a small bruise on his upper back, the report says.
