Canada. Student stabbed at school during a fight

A 15-year-old Kipling Collegiate Institute student was rushed to hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition Monday afternoon after being stabbed multiple times outside his school.

Const. Sarah Diamond said the male victim was stabbed three times during an altercation with a group of males on the grounds of The Westway and Martin Grove Road area school at around 12:35 p.m.

Toronto EMS spokesperson Kim McKinnon said the victim suffered stab wounds to the torso area.

Police, he added, were in the area of the school at the time of the stabbing and responded very quickly so no lockdown of the school was necessary.

Diamond said no arrests have yet been made in connection with the stabbing, but that police are searching for several male suspects believed to be involved.
