UK.NHS restraint guidelines say “no prone restraint” so now police are asked to do it

The UK is finally showing some sense.

A writer asks: WHAT is the point of NHS restraint guidelines that say “no prone restraint” only to call the police and ask them to do it?

Exactly. NHS/UK should either ban prone restraint entirely and put everyone’s safety in jeopardy or allow everyone to legally protect themselves equally.

NHS policy makers would have to be incompetent not to have realized that it’s policy would simply ensure that police would be restraining patients on the floor instead of hospital staff. Our opinion is that NHS banned floor/prone restraint so that NHS staff would have to routinely call police to manage out-of-control patients. It seems that NHS is less concerned with the welfare of patients and staff and more concerned with their political image and is willing to sacrifice the well-being of both to preserve its image.

As the writer so elegantly states…. WHAT is the point of NHS restraint guidelines that say “no prone restraint” only to call the police and ask them to do it?
