NE. Lockdown for armed students of High School

The lockdown at McCaskey East High School was lifted at 10:35 a.m., School District of Lancaster spokeswoman Kelly Burkholder said.

City police arrested three McCaskey East High School students earlier after a weapons sweep of the school, police said.

During an argument between two males at the school at about 8 a.m., one mentioned something about a gun, police Lt. Todd Umstead said.

Police did not find any guns but two pocket knives and marijuana were found and three male students were arrested, he said.

Burkholder said the students were safe in their classrooms during the entire incident, but some concerned parents picked up their children at the school and took them home.
