Under restraint free advocate rule, neither the student nor the bus driver would have the right, training or ability to place this 250 pound 12 year old boy on the ground.
Facts of the incident: A 12-year-old boy threatened a staff member at Hillside Middle School at 3 p.m. Jan. 12. The boy also threatened a bus driver and fought with a student.
Police put the 12-year-old Parma boy in restraints after he tried to pull away from police. The boy was taken to Parma Community General Hospital.
During the incident, the boy, a seventh-grader, threatened a male member of the school staff by saying the man would have been sorry if the boy had had a loaded gun. The boy also called the police lewd names.
The incident began during a fight in the parking lot. The boy then became “enraged” at a bus driver who pulled shut a bus door.
Police put the boy, who weighed 250 pounds, to the ground after he pulled his arm away from an officer.
